Peace and Power

April 27, 2016

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. (John 14:27-31)

Jesus often used the expression, “Peace be with you” when talking to the Apostles. He made it clear to them that when they followed Him and believed in Him, they would find peace.

Later in John’s Gospel, Jesus comforted His Apostles as they tried to reconcile the fact that He would soon leave them. He assured them that they need not be afraid; He would send them the power of the Holy Spirit (at Pentecost).

With Jesus Christ we have peace; with the Holy Spirit we have power.

What an awesome combination! Anything is possible!
