Through him we have received the grace of apostleship, to bring about the obedience of faith, for the sake of his name… (Romans 1:1-7)
Scripture is the divinely inspired Word of God, intended to instruct and inspire us all. So although Paul wrote this letter to the Romans, the message is for us as well.
Grace is an undeserved gift, given freely by God. Paul tells us that apostleship is just such a gift.
Interesting perspective on apostleship, isn’t it? Apostles are “sent out” to spread the good news. But rather than call apostleship an obligation or duty, Paul refers to it as a grace.
Our gift to God in return is to be the very best apostles we can be.
