All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching… so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
I find great comfort in the knowledge that scripture is divinely inspired. The words we read are what God wants us to know, they were intended for us – individually as well as collectively.
I have discovered over time that the true beauty of scripture is that it speaks to me differently each time I read it – giving me the knowledge and inspiration I need that day. I am fascinated that the message evolves like that.
Scripture is not ancient literature; it is alive.
What Paul points out in his letter to Timothy is that scripture goes beyond it’s ability to speak to us and inspire us. As with many aspects of our faith, scripture compels us. It equips us for the work we are called to do.
Arming us with confidence and competence, scripture sends us out into the world equipped for every good work.
Scripture: Read it, listen to its message, take that message into your heart, act on it.
