God is My Strength

March 30, 2021

Each day during Lent, I am highlighting a Lenten Word (or phrase) of the Day from the readings of the day. I encourage you to reflect on this word or phrase and incorporate it in your prayers today.

“And I am made glorious in the sight of the LORD, and my God is now my strength!” (Isaiah 49:5)

GOD IS MY STRENGTH: Have you ever noticed that people of strong faith seem to be more relaxed? They exude confidence, undaunted by whatever challenges they may encounter. There is also a joy about them.

From where does this “I can handle anything” attitude come? People of strong faith believe that…

…God loves them unconditionally.

…God will provide for them.

…God is always present and involved in their lives.

These foundational beliefs allow them to say with confidence, “God is my strength.” There is joy in that knowledge.
